Tomas Hal Robson-Kanu is a former Premier League and international footballer, entrepreneur and media pundit.
Enjoying a 14 year professional playing career, Hal made over three hundred league appearances and received 46 caps for Wales.
Hal formed part of the team that helped Wales reach the semi-finals of the 2016 European Championships, having not qualified for 57 years. In the Quarter Final match against Belguim, Hal scored a sensational goal that went on to be awarded Goal of the Tournament.
In league football, Hal had two spells in the Premier League, first with Reading and then with West Bromwich Albion, where he ended his career in 2021. During his second stint at Reading he played an integral part in their 2011–12 Championship winning campaign.
After a cruciate knee ligament injury, Hal discovered turmeric as an effective treatment for supporting his recovery. He was so impressed with it, hailing it his ‘secret weapon’ that saved his football career, Hal went on to launch The Turmeric Co brand in 2018, which sells a range of turmeric-based shots designed to enhance health and boost immunity.
Since leaving West Brom, Hal has been a regular pundit for Sky Sports and has also appeared on Soccer Am.
Thomas, whose full name is actually Thomas Henry Alex “Hal” Robson-Kanu, started his career as a schoolboy for Arsenal before being released at 15, when he moved on to the Reading Academy.
Following the signing of a professional contract in 2007, Thomas was released on loan in 2008 . After time away, He returned to Reading and helped them get promoted to the top flight in the 2011/2012 season, with his Premier League debut coming in 2012. Hal left Reading and joined West Brom on a 2-year deal, on deadline day, for the 2016-17 season, where he remained until 2021.
Despite his success with the Wales international team, Hal initially played for England at Under 19 and Under 20 level, before switching to Wales in 2010. Thanks to his Welsh grandmother, Thomas was able to switch allegiance and he received his first senior international cap for Wales in a match against Croatia in 2010.
After a serious knee injury Hal was told that he may never play football at professional level again. Devastated by this news, he was determined to find a natural solution and this is how he discovered the incredible healing benefits of turmeric. The inflammation in his knee subsided and he went on to continue a successful professional football career. Passionate about the benefits of turmeric, Hal developed the turmeric shots and The Turmeric Co is now one of the fastest growing natural health products on the market.
