After being plagued by injury, Paul found himself moving from club to club, making appearances for Derby County, Sheffield United, and Chelsea.

Like a lot of footballers, Paul made the move from playing to managing, becoming director of football at Ashford Town, joining Chelmsford City’s coaching staff before getting the top job, manager of Welling United, and as assistance manager of Folkestone Invicta. In 2009, he was named as a coaching consultant and game development officer for the Football Federation Northern Territory Australia.
His years of experience at club and international level, and as a manager, has lead him to be a well-respected football pundit.
