Juanita Headley is a globally recognised speaker and anti-human trafficking advocate, as well as an author and licensed New York attorney.

Through her work as a volunteer advocate, Juanita Headley has an unwavering commitment and dedication towards members of the indigent community and people enslaved as a result of bonded labour, domestic servitude and sexual exploitation.

Juanita Headley also has over a decade of global humanitarian experience including feeding members of the indigent community, serving individuals in the Red Light District, volunteering with victims of human trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation, as well as disaster relief work,

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather, Juanita is now passionate about travelling the world sharing her story and the plight of others that have suffered similar and other forms of exploitation.

Through the art of storytelling, Juanita clearly explains child abuse and commercial exploitation in an informative and engaging way, leaving audiences educated, empowered, and inspired.

More About Juanita Headley

Juanita Headley, who grew up in London, England, is currently based in New York. Since 2012, she has undertaken volunteer work in the United States serving the indigent community dealing with crime, immigration, family, employment, and housing law.

She assisted the National Centre on Sexual Exploitation’s 2016 Coalition to end Sexual Exploitation Summit and has volunteered with ECPAT-USA on an anti-child pornography project.

In 2019, Juanita Headley published her book Can You Keep a Secret, which shares her true story of the sexual abuse she experienced at the hands of her stepfather.

Writing from her lived experience and detailing other victim and survivor testimonies, Juanita not only educates and empowers the reader, but also inspires them to join the fight against human trafficking and the world’s biggest slave trade movement.

Juanita is founder and CEO of Changing Cases, an international organisation she created 10 years ago, which is dedicated to the eradication of sexual exploitation through the education and empowerment of the public on human trafficking and through the creation of safeguarding tools for children.

She has reached audiences in England, America, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, with ongoing projects taking place in a number of these places.

Described by David Arquette as “a champion for human decency”, Juanita has singlehandedly held global screenings of SOLD The Movie, a film about a girl from Nepal who is trafficked to India. David Arquette plays a humanitarian worker in the film.

In 2019 she was named the Global Goodwill Ambassador for humanitarian work by the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation, and a recipient of the Gem FM Appreciation Award – The Lydia Calliste Award of Excellence in Community.
