James Stewart
James Stewart is one of the UK’s prominent broadcasters in the science and sustainability space.
Having trained in climate science at The University Of Bristol, James was nominated by Harvard as a ‘climate creator to watch’ in 2023. James’ approach is one of upbeat positivity – transferring his knowledge on screen with roles across British television.
He is a regular contributor to BBC Morning Live, collaborates closely with BBC Sport and Channel 4, and has recently ventured into children’s programming. His work with CBBC, Blue Peter, and his own cBeebies show, Get Set Galactic, showcases his ability to connect with audiences of all ages while promoting environmental awareness and action.
Alongside his on-screen work James presented the UK’s largest commercial Early Breakfast show on Heart FM for a number of years, before switching off the alarm clock in 2023!
James remains a part of the Heart team and can still be found broadcasting across all day slots. 2024 was an exciting year for James in the world of audio with not one but two podcasts being released as he joined the presenting team for the BBC Bitesize podcast series as well as fronting his own series called Saving Planet Earth with Audio Always.

Initially training as a climate scientist, James transferred his knowledge to the silver screen through the BBC’s commitment to sustainability programme. James can often be seen making films across the UK, and further afield, reporting on everything from climate change refugees, to increasing numbers of seals in the North of England. When not on the road, James can be found in the BBC Morning Live (2010-) studio presenting vital eco hacks.

He worked with Aviva in 2021 to share ways to make the future more sustainable. He also teamed up with Plant Based News to promote the importance of keeping the world’s coral reefs healthy.
He discusses anything from eating sustainably-sourced fish to the benefits of a vegan diet, from choosing reef-friendly sun creams to reusing silicone packets, from deleting junk mail to washing your clothes with conkers, from choosing the perfect Christmas tree to data poverty, from food waste to deforestation, all with the aim of lowering our carbon footprint.

James took part in the Harvard Chan C-CHANGE Youth Summit at Harvard University’s Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment to bring together students from around the world for the Youth Summit on Climate, Equity, and Health.
Another recent event saw James participate in the Wharf Wellness panel in Canary Wharf, London. A signature four-day wellness event addressing the important question of ‘Is there such a thing as sustainable fashion?’ James took part in this panel event surrounding circularity in fashion, a discussion with some of the industry’s leading climate experts.
In 2024, James was part of the Adaptation to Climate Risks Fireside Chat taking part with ChangeNOW. ChangeNOW is the largest event of solutions for the planet. The summit brought
together over 35,000 of the world’s leading entrepreneurs, companies, NGOs, and citizens to address pressing issues around climate, biodiversity, and inclusion.

Due to his rising popularity, James has expanded his presenting topics, including hosting the live red carpet coverage at the Oscars for the E! television channel, and working with Mercedes to launch the London Fashion Week SS/2017 show. His interest in fashion means he was named the ambassador for international men’s grooming brand Johnny’s Chop Shop in 2017.
