Whilst studying economics at the University College London, Chris Roebuck chaired the Students Union commercial enterprises committee, turning over £1 million and employing 32 staff members. He later chaired the Union Council which oversaw the governance process, elections, and negotiations with the University’s senior leadership team.
After graduating, Chris initially served with the Royal Engineer sub unit of the British Army before being commissioned into the Territorial Army. This elite training enabled him to help senior leaders become successful high performers at HSBC Investment Bank as Head of Management Development, at UBS as Global Head of Leadership, at London Underground as Head of Culture Change, at KPMG, and others.
Fifteen years after graduating from UCL, Chris Roebuck received his MBA from Cass Business School in London, his dissertation on organisational communication was featured in The Times and on BBC TV and was published worldwide in the International Journal of Strategic Management. Chris Roebuck was so successful with his MBA, he very quickly started working with organisations including the Arts Council of England and Wales, the Bank of England, the Bank of New York, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, legal firms and the UK Government.
Since 2006, Chris Roebuck has helped develop leadership and values-based high performance working with or in organisations as diverse as the NHS and in sectors including international logistics, finance, legal, transport, facilities, media, pharmaceutical and not-for-profit.
All of these experiences made him realise one thing:
Leaders everywhere face the same two problems:
- Too much work
- And not enough time
Overcoming these could get you 30% more effort from 60% of people, transforming performance in all areas, and put you and colleagues in the top 20% of leaders vs competitor peers. If you don’t that’s what it could be costing you.
That’s why Chris developed his human-centric “Accelerate Your Success” system to help leaders achieve more. Built on 20+ years of guiding and coaching top business leaders beat their challenges → With a proven framework that helps leaders get more time, more performance, more impact. Here’s how it works:
- He will interweave your career insights, his experience, business examples, data and neuroscience to show you actionable steps to achieve more.
- He will uncover your hidden potential to use those to be more successful.
- You leave with a personalised action plan to make it happen.
It works, Thierry Garnier, CEO Kingfisher Group, FTSE 100, said to Chris after hearing him speak “I found what you said really interesting so I took notes to see what action I can take”.

CHRIS ROEBUCK KEYNOTE TOPICS
Chris keynotes will enable you to build High Performance Teams, Maximise Employee Engagement, Build a Culture of Success and deliver Change and Transformation to potentially get 10% on bottom line for free!
High Performance Leadership
The two fundamental challenges that leaders face are “too much work” and “not enough time”. These prevent you from achieving your true potential to be a high performing leader.
This then holds you back from getting the best out of your team, which reduces their performance as well as that of the organisation. Chis solves this by showing you how you can become human-centric, and high-performing, and make your team the same through a proven formula to accelerate your success. Amongst other things, this could find you ½ a day extra time a week, and put you in the top 20% of performers compared to your peers in other organisations.
Chris has personal experience of delivering high-performance personally and developing high performing leaders in the military, business, and government. He has worked with the likes of BASF, BD Pharmaceutical, Huawei, UAE Prime Minister’s Office, and the Chinese Space Programme.
Maximise Employee Engagement
Employee engagement – people giving their best – is the engine of success for any organisation. But the reality is, most organisations are significantly underperforming on their potential to get the best from their people because their leaders don’t understand employee engagement well enough.
The real challenge is how you can increase the number of people in your team who are engaged and giving their best by being more human centric. To achieve this, you need to understand employee engagement in more depth, e.g. the difference between engaged, no engaged, and disengaged, and then how to move people to become fully engaged.
Chris has studied employee engagement, written articles on it, featured it in his books, and shown leaders how to improve it for organisations such as HSBC, KPMG, and Tata Communications.
A house construction company he worked with moved the engagement score for “I would recommend this as a grief place to work for friends and family” from 40% to 82% in just two years.
Successful Culture and Change/Transformation in Uncertain Times
Even doing “business as usual” can present a challenge for most leaders as they are under pressure to deliver. Then, if change and transformation needs to happen, it not only adds to the pressure but also creates uncertainty.
To be able to deliver business as usual and successfully deliver change in uncertain times requires leaders to think differently and have excellent human centric leadership and management skills.
Chris enables you to create an environment of certainty amidst the uncertainty which then allows individuals and teams to be more effective, motivated, resilient, and aligned to what needs to be done. Within this, Chris shows how entrepreneurial leadership can be delivered so leaders can use change and uncertainty as an opportunity, not a threat.
Chris has worked on several major transformations in organisations as diverse as the London Underground, UBS, and the UK NHS. The transformation at UBS is now a Harvard case study on successful integration and change in uncertainty.
Human Leadership and AI
AI can bring significant benefits to both leaders and organisations. However, AI professionals are clear that it is not a silver bullet for success as its application must be based on optimal use cases.
The reality is, AI will never be optimised without HI (human intelligence). Not only that, but perhaps the greatest challenge with making AI work is effective implementation. That requires leaders and people in your organisation to see the benefit that AI can bring to them, to understand how it works, to be able to identify optimum use cases, and then have the skills to implement it.
Chris has spoken to audiences on how this can be achieved and even been asked to address Chief Digital Officers on the people challenges around AI so that they can better understand their role in enabling AI to achieve its potential through people as well as tech.
