With over 20 years’ experience at the heart of British broadcasting, Anna Richardson is an experienced presenter and journalist, and a regular face on our TV screens.
She has hosted some of Britain’s best-loved programmes such as The Big Breakfast (1992-2002), Supersize vs Superskinny (2008-2014) and Secret Eaters (2012-2014), written three books and is a trained Cognitive Hypnotherapist.

Anna Richardson began her TV life as a journalist for Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast. Her frank, honest style meant she beat some of the best-known names in British television to front the ITV series Love Bites (2011), a no-holds-barred teenage sex and relationship show. The series was so successful and went on to win awards in the UK and US, and Anna herself was nominated for an RTS award at just 26 years old.
Her popularity meant she went on to host numerous shows for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 such as Naked Attraction (2016-). She was also the host for Channel 4’s The Sex Education Show in 2008, The Sex Education Show vs. Pornography in 2009, The Sex Education Show: Am I Normal? In 2010, The Sex Education Show: Stop Pimping Our Kids in early 2011 and finally the fifth series The Sex Education Show in late 2011. She was named the host of the Changing Rooms (1996-) reboot in 2021.
She also hosted shows around ageing, food and dieting culture from Channel 4’s Secret Eaters, My Big Fat Diet Show (2010), How Not To Get Old (2013), Supershoppers (2016-2020), How to Retire at 40 (2017), and How To Get Fit Fast (2017) with Amar Latif.
She has been involved with a number of leading documentaries such as Are You Autistic? (2018), Thomas Cook: The Rise and Fall of Britain’s Oldest Travel Agent (2019), and Revenge Porn (2015).
Not content with just appearing in front of the camera, Anna also has a wealth of experience in TV production. She has developed, written and produced a variety of successful programmes for BBC, ITV and Channel 4 including No Waste Like Home (2008), Turn Back Your Body Clock (2006) and You Are What You Eat (2004-2006) with Dr. Gillian McKeith, which went on to air in over 40 countries.
When not in the TV studio, Anna writes regularly for magazines including Closer, the Sunday Express, the Sun on Sunday and the Sunday Telegraph and has and has published three books on food and dieting, advocating for body confidence: Body Blitz: Five Rules for a Brand New You (2010), Summer Body Blitz Diet: Five Rules for a Brand New You (2011) and Mind Over Fatter: See Yourself Slim, Think Yourself Slim, Eat Yourself Slim (2015).
With a particular interest in lifestyle and mental health she is a frequent podcast host and guest on Health Fact vs Fiction with Anna Richardson, The Andy Jaye Project and You Can Adopt. She is also a cognitive hypnotherapist and co-founder of mind-box.co.uk, an online help centre dedicated to mental health. She worked alongside the Let’s Talk Campaign which encourages people to talk about their mental health.
Anna was in a same-sex relationship for seven years, and whilst she doesn’t identify as gay, straight or bisexual, she believes that everyone should have the right to fall in love with who they want without fear of repercussions. Anna is a versatile speaker who can bring warmth and humour whilst talking about potentially sensitive subjects such as sexuality, LGBTQ+, Sex and relationships and mental wellbeing, in a forthright and honest manner.
