Andy Clarke started his reporting career at Chanel 5 in 2008 as their pitch-side reporter for the UEFA Cup competition. He then moved to talkSPORT a year later, where he would spend over a decade, reporting on the Premier League and Champions League, the Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006, all major domestic and international finals, as their lead football reporter.
He moved on from talkSPORT in 2012, where he spent a short stint reporting for the Olympic Broadcasting Services, covering the Archery, Volleyball, and Wheelchair Fencing at the London Olympic and Paralympic games. Over the next four years, Andy would present and commentate on football matches and boxing fights for BT and ESTV.
He now works as a freelance reporter, and since 2012, has covered every sport from premiership rugby games to football leagues, to T20, OD1 and Test Match cricket, but it is boxing coverage that he has best known for. He is a main boxing commentator for Sky Sports, BBC, Channel 5, News UK, Box Nation, AIBA, Spike TV, HBO and Matchroom Sport.
In 2019, Andy and his Sky colleague Matt Macklin created the boxing podcast, Macklin’s Take. In four years they have produced over 170 episodes, inviting boxers including Jazza Dickens, Scott Welch, Lewis Van Poetsch, and Dan Azeez, alongside managers, reporters, trainers, promoters, pundits, commentators and more.
He is also an ambassador for Boxing-Futures, promoting the positive impact that boxing can have on young people.
Andy’s 15+ years of experience has made him one of the most highly credible, respected and popular voices in global sport. His passion for his job makes him an accomplished live event host or MC.
